Mark Bowen, Managing Director of Andrew Scott Ltd, who is based in Margam and is Wales’s oldest construction company, said that it is a great privilege to be involved with the competition and lend our support and sponsorship. This is one of the most successful enterprise competitions in Wales. I believe that across Wales, thanks to encouragement and support offered by competitions like this, we are seeing the beginning of an enterprise, engineering and entrepreneurial renaissance in the Swansea City Region.

The Swansea Bay Young Dragons competition with its nautical theme is truly inspiring; the students through to the final have all demonstrated an innovative, can-do approach and the ability to turn great ideas into commercial reality. Their creativity and success will inspire many other young people to make their ideas happen in the Swansea Bay Region and Wales.
Mark Bowen added that Andrew Scott Ltd, have some twenty trainees from summer placements, Workways, apprentices, interns, bursary students to undergraduates and post graduates. Andrew Scott Ltd sponsor Newbridge U12’s Junior Rugby

With the success of last season’s sponsorship deal with the Newbridge under 12's Rugby team, Andrew Scott Ltd have agreed to continue their support once again by renewing their kit sponsorship for the coming season 2013/2014.

Newbridge RFC was established in 1888, and gained admission to the WRU 24 years later in 1911. This delay was due to difficulties in the Club being able to obtain a suitable ground and the facilities to go with it. By 1925 home at The Welfare was found and a lease was obtained for 99 years at 1s a year! To this day, The Welfare Ground remains their home and Newbridge Rugby continues to go from strength to strength through all the age groups.

The under 12’s proved this at the Abergavenny Tournament in May, where they finished as runners up.
