Outstanding Health and Safety at Andrew Scott

Andrew Scott receive ROSPA Award and recognise the dedication to health and safety in all our working environments. July 2015.

On July 15th, 2015 – Andrew Scott Ltd were presented with the ‘Gold Award ‘for Occupational Health and Safety for a third year in a row. Awarded to us by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA), this award recognises our ongoing dedication to health and safety performance throughout the company.

Here at Andrew Scott, we are extremely proud of our health and safety record and are thankful to all our team members who continuously work hard to maintain it. Keeping all of our work environments a safe place to work, our current accident frequency rate is an impressive zero for 2015, with a Rolling Incident Rate for the previous 12 months well below the industry average (0.12)

The H&S team continuously work with the Site Management teams to maintain all aspects of health and safety in our company. Roger Trueman, SHEQ Manager for Andrew Scott, attended the ROSPA awards ceremony to collect our award. He says:

I am extremely proud of the achievements of Andrew Scott personnel and our supply chain over the last 3 years in significantly decreasing accidents and increasing proactive incident reporting across all of our sites. This continual improvement in performance is highlighted by the fact we have been awarded the Gold award from ROSPA for the past 3 years.

To endorse our health and safety culture we regularly recognise the achievements of our staff and supply chain through our “Always Safe” Behavioural based safety campaign.

For the last half-year, the following people have been recognised for their aptitude and commitment to delivering a safe working environment:

·        -    Feb:   Steve Mitchell – ASL supervisor in Tata Port Talbot

·         -  March: Kevin Morris – ASL supervisor  at WPD Hereford

·         -   April: Billy Chappell - Machine driver contractor at MYG, Crosshands

·          -  May: Peter Robson – Subcontractor at Bridgnorth Aluminium

·         -   June: Colin Wherrett – Direct labour contractor at Tenby

We would like to say a big well done and thank you to everyone who has kept up our reputation for an outstanding, and safe company!
