Well-deserved Retirement for Wyndsor Lewis
One of Andrew Scott's longest serving staff members, Wyndsor Lewis, set to retire after 45 years of service. July 2015.
After 45 years of service Wyndsor Lewis, Senior Accounts Clerk of Andrew Scott, is set to retire this Friday, the 31st July.
Wyndsor began his time with us on the 27th April 1970 and started his work within the accounts department. He was interviewed by the then company secretary John Reynish. Since then, Wyndsor has continued to work within the accounts department fulfilling various roles. For the last 25 years, Wyndsor has played an invaluable role by taking over control of Sub Contractor invoices and payments.
Working closely with Wyndsor for 21 years, David Hadley the Financial director describes how “Wyndsor started working here as a seventeen year old and leaves as our longest serving employee after over 45 years’ service. We are very proud to have retained his services for his whole working life. His commitment and diligence has generated a great deal of respect within the company and throughout the Construction Industry in South Wales. It is a measure of his length of service, that his role is being taken over by Alison who has been with us 14 years, but wasn’t even born when Wyndsor started here! He will be greatly missed.”
Julian Davies, Commercial Director, describes how Wyndsor’s “gentleman-like personality and faultless service will be sorely missed at Andrew Scott, as he is such a loyal, committed member of staff” and that “we wish him all the best in his retirement and know he’ll be happy to be able to watch the rest of ashes without interruption!”
During his time with us, it became evident that Wyndsor is an avid sports enthusiast! Wyndsor not only watches the entirety of the English Cricket Ashes but also followed the 1975 Lions invincible tour. Therefore, it came to no surprise that during his retirement Wyndsor plans to continue his love for sports and enjoy his new found free time by following his beloved Aberafan RFC and make regular trips to see Manchester United play.
Finally, it is with much sadness that Andrew Scott must say good-bye to Wyndsor, as we will certainly miss his being part of the Andrew Scott team. However, we would all like to say one last big thank-you for all of his hard work and dedication and wish him a long and happy retirement!
