The works involved the reconfiguration of the local road network with new access and traffic lights to a new site entrance. The works also involved diversion of utilities and traffic diversions in order to complete the interchange construction.
This project consisted of the installation of a new traffic controlled junction and access road situated in Tondu. Strategic traffic management and programming were key factors in the successful completion of the contract due to its location and the need to cater for the constant flow of heavy traffic.
We constructed over 400 meters of new roads, 900 meters of new footpaths and cycle paths, 4 traffic islands and carried out significant kerbing, surfacing and white lining works. In addition we removed old traffic signals and replaced with new and installed automatic pedestrian and vehicle barriers.
