Margam Park - Conservation Repairs

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council / Cyngor Bwrdeistref Siriol Castell-Nedd Port Talbot
Margam Country Park is a site of outstanding historical importance.

The historic core includes Cistercian Abbey remains and 18th and 19th century gardens. Of particular importance are the banqueting house facade (the Temple of the Four Seasons), the outstanding Georgian Orangery, the Citrus House and the 19th century gardens with their fine collection of trees and shrubs.

The park is included in the CADW Register of Landscapes, Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales and has been evaluated Grade I.

The impressive collection of buildings and structures which are listed within the Historic Core together with a range of Ancient Monuments give Margam Park a high level of statutory protection. The Historic Core has been designated as a Conservation Area.
