Rockwool LimitedFollowing the announcement that Rockwool Ltd would be investing £100m towards doubling its manufacturing capacity in South Wales, Andrew Scott Ltd succeeded in securing a contract to extend the current manufacturing plant in Pencoed, Bridgend.
The project, which provided an extra 110 jobs locally, involved the construction of 6 production buildings to house the innovative cupola furnace and associated facilities.
Conveyors were constructed to transport the insulating fibres, produced by melting volcanic rock and recycled ‘briquettes’, throughout the production areas towards the hard standing storage areas for distribution.
This challenging project was completed alongside a live manufacturing environment.
