New build and civil engineering works for a new in-land surfing destination. The technically challenging and complex civil engineering works includes a 200m surfing lake with the installation of Wavegarden technology that provides 1000 waves an hour. Alongside the surfing lake we have constructed a new visitor and education centre and clubhouse to Passivhaus standards.

2017
As Principal Contractor we constructed the 4m wide, 50m long Y-shaped bridge over the river Avon in Bristol designed by Knight Architects. Designed to accommodate the height difference between two riverbanks, one branch is connected to an elevated concrete ramp whilst the other branch carries a pedestrian staircase down to a pedestrian footpath.

Construction of a unique curved bridge, topped with timber decking, culptured cladding and feature lighting. The bridge’s piled foundations, concrete structure and 20-tonne steel sections were all placed via ‘jack-up’ barges and floating pontoons. Castle Bridge is an integral part of the Finzels Reach development, linking the Floating Harbour to the city centre. ICE ‘Designed in Wales 2018’ winner.
2016
The new Transport Hub centralises main transport links including Port Talbot Parkway station, a new bus terminal, cycle facilities, a taxi rank and drop-off and pick-up bays in a largely pedestrianised concourse, providing easier access to employment and residential areas in and around the town.
