We were delighted that Thames Hospice was shortlisted for Project of the Year at the Construction News Awards 2021. The £19 million project, situated off Windsor Road in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, commenced in September 2018 and is set in more than eight acres, with stunning views across landscaped gardens and Bray Lake.
The new Thames Hospice has 28 en-suite inpatient bedrooms and the new day centre (The Paul Bevan Centre) offers a range of therapeutic services and activities. A new Education Centre dedicated to promoting palliative care excellence to hospice staff also offers education to others in the local community.
Thames Hospice is a local charity providing expert care for people living with life-limiting illnesses. They offer a wide range of therapies to support patients’ physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. All services are free, thanks to fundraisers and donors.
As a vital part of the community, Thames Hospice is an unrivalled state-of-the-art facility for the residents of East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire.
‘’We are extremely proud of this iconic, state-of-the-art facility, which will serve the people of Windsor and Maidenhead for decades to come. The new in-patient hospice ensures spectacular surroundings and has already made a huge difference to Thames Hospice patients and their families. We are delighted to have completed the 78-week programme on time for our client”, said Mark Bowen, Managing Director.
